In case if you are still facing this issue, please make sure following 2 things to fix this error.
1.Make sure that you have the respective driver available in your PPD folder.
Example :- if your XWC portal is pointing to the PPD name “Xerox AltaLink B8045”, you must have respective PPD file as mentioned in the below path
/Library/Printers/PPDs/Contents/Resources/Xerox AltaLink B8045.gz
2.when you try to pick printer from XWC portal Print>Desktop path, you need to download only Mac printer and not the windows one.
Thanks,
We are having the same error after installing the common driver, it's the same on 2 macs Os 10.13.8 and 10.14.6.
Any futher suggestions?
thanks

Hi Mark,
As a prerequisite, the MAC Common Print Driver must be installed on the Mac device prior to installing the MAC Client. You can find the MAC Common Print Driver listed under each device family's drivers and downloads section on the Xerox.com. For example, https://www.support.xerox.com/support/altalink-c8000-series/downloads/enus.html?associatedProduct=C8...
Once the Mac Common Print Driver is installed, you will be able to view all of the device models in the Mac device's PPD folder. Directory: Mac device HDD > library > Printers > PPDs > Contents > Resources
After the steps above, you will then create a Mac Custom Driver in the Xerox Workplace Cloud Web Portal. When you are createing a new custom driver, you will have a choice to have the driver be MAC ONLY or both both Windows and MAC. You will need to make sure the PPD name field match one fo the fiel names in the MAC PPD folder. For example, if the printer device shows as "Xerox AltaLink C8030" in the Mac PPD folder, the PPD Name in the create new custom driver field should also be "Xerox AltaLink C8030".
Once you finished the above steps, the MAC Client can be installed on your Mac device.
Please let us know if you have any further questions or comments.
Thank you,
Wayne
I am working on a setup in a mixed environment with Windows and MACs. The Windows side appears to be working properly. The MAC side not so much. I can get the client to install. Login works properly. Click on add printer and it takes me to the Print>Desktop page where it should show the printer to install. Instead it shows no printers and the links to download the clients. However if I click on any main tab and go back to the Print>Desktop tab then the devices show up. Click on the one I want and it downloads. Go into downloads and click to run. I immediately get a message that simply says "Invalid Device" and it deletes the file. I have tried all the steps in Safari, Firefox, and Chrome. I am on a 10.14 OSX. I am completely unable to make the client work at all. I tried to download the generic driver as well with no change.
