Re: print service for android not working for 8580

Something is different, not sure what, as long as you have the firmware I linked, MOPRIA enabled, assuming setup from Epson to Xerox is identical, I can't fathom the issue, MOPRIA and Airprint are third party protocols, Xerox has nothing to do with their code. Xerox only gives the checkbox to turn it on and lists the requirements (IPP, mDNS, HTTP)

All you are left with is rebooting every single thing until it works, including the router which assuming firmware is up to date, is all anyone ever suggests.

HP, Mopria, Xerox, Apple.

If the device is in some way faulted, return for refund assuming new(ish)

The Epson is likely wireless, so the mDNS thing won't apply to it.

Re: print service for android not working for 8580

Yes, both are enabled.  I also have an epson wf3540 and I can print to that from the android with no problems, just xerox is not being discovered.  Yes I have tried putting in the ip address and it still does not want to work.  From the android device I can open up firefox and put in the ip address and the cwis does come up with no problems.   Just the print service can't find it.

Re: print service for android not working for 8580

Have you enabled MOPRIA print service on the printer?

If not, or unsure, go to CWIS > Properties > Protocols > MOPRIA and enable it (Might as well do the same for Airprint while you are there.)

Otherwise, it is a connectivity issue, your device has to be on the same LAN (Not connected to 3G/4G/LTE etc) and mDNS must be available on the LAN.

So take the IP of the printer and put it in the address bar of Chrome or whatever Browser you choose.

If the printer CWIS page loads you are on the same LAN.

Then go into the settings and enable MOPRIA/Airprint per the above. If it isn't there, you need updated firmware, which you can grab from here.

Once that is installed, the only issue left is the mDNS thing. Which I cannot be much help with.If it is enabled in the printer protocols and the device is not discoverable, it is likely a router blocking it. This happens with a lot of routers when traversing wireless to wired and vice versa (I know your tab...

print service for android not working for 8580

I installed the xerox print service for android to be able to print to my new 8580dn.  The compatability list shows that it is supported, so why is it that my tablet never finds the printer???   I tried putting in the ip address, but it says not found.
