I am trying to print to a Xerox WorkCentre 7655. I have been using this printer for years, but recently it stopped working. It's been a couple weeks now, at least, since the problem developed, and I can't recall what might have changed on my system, other than maybe an OS update from Apple.
I am printing from Mac OS X 10.6.8. I can print to another Xerox 260 printer on the network. But when I try to print to the 7655, I consistently get this error:
OFFENDING COMMAND: X_isTransparency
This happens regardless of what application I print from (Adobe InDesign, MS Excel, a simple word processor called Bean).
Today I tried installing a new v2.32.0 driver from Xerox. At the end of the installation, it automatically printed a test page, which printed correctly. But I still get the same error when printing from any application.

It's hard to ignore the timing with the OS update though.
Just curious, have you tried completely blowing away the printer and creating a new one after doing the supplemental update?
I am having trouble setting up Email Send Authentication section for our 6505DN.
The login name for our SMTP is username+domainname (the plus sign is required).
Whenever I try to save the changes in the web interface I get the following message:
Unable to apply settings.
Please check the settings for the following items.
Email Send Authentication : SMTP Login Name
It it possible to have a username with the plus sign in it for this machine? If so, how do I enter it? If not, are there any workarounds?
This morning we are downloading a veriable data job and the images seem tyo be taking longer. Prior to the issue we where recieving the images from prepress and then releasing the image for print. To increase productivity we have asked the prepress department to step the job four up. This has created a larger file. Is this common for the image to now download so slowly?

Let us say we have a 10x12 4C TIF at 300 dpi, that will be about 42 MB. The RIP has to process the 42 MB for every page in the PDF.
Now let's size that TIF down so that we are placing it at 100%, it is now about 2 MB.
That extra 40 MB we aren't RIPping now is going to speed up everything.
The N-1 & 1-N setting is in the Output tab/ Finishing section under Output Order.
"To take advantage of concurrent RIP and job printing, VI jobs
should be printed using 1-N. Printing N-1 will cause the entire
job to RIP before printing starts. For natural reading order,
select face down when printing 1-N. However, N-1 may be
necessary to accommodate some finishing selections."
Photoshop CS6 on Windows 7x64.
Not matter what I do, the 7655 will not let me choose any paper size other that US Letter. I can go into the "Print Size" dialog box and choose tabloid or legal, or choose a different tray, but when I get back to the Print dialog box, print size reverts to US Letter. I do not get the same problem with other printers.
Please help, this is driving me nuts.

Update to my previous post about this problem: I have found a fix--at least for my particular problem. I downloaded the PostScript (PS) driver for our Xerox 7435 and installed it. Now I can print Tabloid size from Photoshop CS6 without issue. (The color actually seems to be more accurate using the PS driver as well.)
Hopefully this will work for other Xerox printers having this problem as well.
Unable to login 7346 remotely. When I attempt the change a setting, this login window comes up (with the printer's IP address):
The server x.x.x.x at CentreWare Internet Services requires a username and password.
Warning: This server is requesting that your username and password be sent in an insecure manner (basic authentication without a secure connection).
I enter the same default user name and password, I use to login via the front panel. After 3 attempts, I get a "Login failed" page (with a back button). I then restart the printer, but still can't login. I checked the printer's configuration against several other 7346s we have and don't find any differences.
Is there a different login/password default for the 7346 web interface?
Can anybody think of a setting that might be causing this?
I buy a Xerox Phaser 4510.
What kind of transparency paper I must use with this printer?
I think the temperature of the Xerox laser printers is higher than other laser printer.
I must to use "Xerox" transparency laser paper?
What is the best transparency paper for my printer?
According to the help section, you can write in ur own signature which should be found under My Settings -> Personal Profile -> Personal Information, has this been removed?
Will the hard disk for the 8560MFP work with the 8560 DN?
Will the hard disk for the 8550 work with the 8560DN?
We recently installed a new Phaser 3635MFP to replace a network printer in our office. We have two paper trays so that we can keep letterhead in Tray 2. With this machine it is imperative to confirm that the tray is loaded with "letterhead" so that it won't copy or print faxes onto the stationery (unless you tell it to.)
The problem is printing to the letterhead or envelopes from MS Office software. We are running Windows 7 and MS Office 2010. We keep getting conflicts with "paper type." Two examples:
1. To print on letterhead from tray 2, we have to do BOTH of the following: a. Select tray 2 in the document "page setup" AND b. Select Tray 2 in the printer profile. Doing only one of the above doesn't work - it either defaults to "plain paper" and prints from tray 1, or it gets blocked by the printer because the "paper type" doesn't match. There is no way to specifiy "letterhead" as the paper type in the document settings. Before running the next job, you have to be careful to re-set the printer profile, or else everything will print on letterhead.
2. We always kept #10 envelopes loaded in the manual feed as the default -- enabling us to quickly print envelopes for correspondence using the Envelopes tool in MS Word. This tool properly sends the paper size and directs it to the manual tray of the printer -- however, it comes through with paper type "plain". When you go to load an envelope in the manual tray, you discover that when you specify the paper size as #10 Envelope, the only Paper Type selection available is "Envelope". You can't select "Plain". The printer then rejects the job because the paper selection doesn't match. I haven't figured out a way around this one, as the "Envelopes" tool in MS Word doesn't give you access to the printer profile....
Anyone have experience with this? Is there a patch for the drivers that will fix it?
I have a phaser 8560MFP set up in a network. about 18 computers on the network, all with static IPs, same as the printer. We also have a DNS server running.
The printer ofter drops off of the network, and when i run the printer's network diagnostics, it comes up with the error "No DNS Response (ND18)" and some other times it has the error "Packets Jammed (ND26)".
the printer was working fine until about the middle of january, and its been acting up ever since.
we even got a replacement printer from xerox after a lot of troubleshooting.
we also have a Phaser 8560DN on the same network, which has no problems at all.
Testing and troubleshooting:
i have updated the firmware to the latest version 4.9.4.
i have moved the printer to a new IP address, and only connected to it about 5 PCs, all of these PCs have been wiped clean of old drivers, and freshly installed latest drivers with the "install from web" version of the "global printer driver" version 5.185.41 which installs driver version 184.108.40.206N 2011.01.31
nothing has worked yet, we believe it could be an issue with the DNS server, but dont know what.
