We have a program which automatically checks several network folders for TIFF files. If any are found, the program copies them to another location then deletes them from the original location. We have created Scan to templates to save as TIFF files to these locations. These templates seem to work ok for a period of time but will then change file format to PDF, even though the template still indicates it will save as TIFF. The program searching these folders does not recognize PDF's so it appears the folder is empty. Any ideas why they would change to PDF and how to keep the setting at TIFF?

They could google it, or call Xerox and ask.
If it happens to more than one device, and those devices are different models, it near certainly is someone making changes. Or a particular workflow. For instance, the Connectkey firmwares that are 073.xxx.xxx.34540 all have an issue where if you select a template and scan in less than 2 seconds, the template settings may not correctly apply, it can use the default settings and not the actual template settings. But that was fixed in every firmware after that one specific one.
Bit of a weird issue with a Workcentre 7220 that I am hoping someone has perhaps come across.
The printer is managed from a print server. The problem is that when editing settings through the advanced tab the settings are reset after a period of time. This only seems to happen with this tab and printer which is causing some problems.
I am thinking it is perhaps firmware/driver related. The firmware being used: v072.030.004.09101 and the driver being pushed out is Xerox WorkCentre 7220 PCL6.
I am looking for any suggestions to fix this problem.
...changes on the print management server would randomly reset at an undefined moment in the future....
Just an update on this. So we had went for a period where jobs had been hidden and the queue wasn't visible. Now the jobs are once again appearing with "Printed Document" as the name and are visible to anyone when viewing "See whats printing". I am comfortable with this. Just strange as to why our changes on the print management server would randomly reset at an undefined moment in the future. This happened to 2 Xerox printers.
I applied the settings directly through the printers hiding the documents in the security panel. This hides the document as stated above and also hides the document name directly on the printer.

It can't be the printer firmware, but if you want to update that go ahead, you are currently 23 levels behind current.
As for settings changes, It would have to be BiDi issues, but it depends where it happens.
1. On the client, or the Server, or both
2. Printer Properties > Advanced <Corrupt install>
3. Printing Preferences > Advanced <Affects the server and the client at install, but not the client if they change them>
4. Printer Properties > Advanced > printing Defaults > Advanced <affects only the client PC's>
If all else fails, switch to the GPD
Our school newspaper owns a Phaser 7800DN that we use to print proofs on tabloid.
The printer has worked for a while but now it crashes after about three minutes. It will turn on and then print the status report and work normally and be accessible from the web browser but the display will read 'warming up' for the duration of those three minutes. After three-ish minutes, the display will become unresponsive (if you try to tap something it will turn black) and the printer will be unnaccessible from the web browser and it will continue to spit out status reports until the main power is shut off.
Thanks in advance for the help.
...changes to reflect the current subsystem being restored. After the firmware update process is...
To prepare the USB thumb drive for an AltBoot restore, create an ALTBOOT folder, in the root directory. The folder name must be all uppercase. Next, using Notepad or similar utility, create a zero-length file in the ALTBOOT folder called FORCED_UPGRADE with no extension. Again, this file must reside in the ALTBOOT folder and be named exactly as shown. Finally, copy the latest firmware file (*.dlm) to the ALTBOOT folder.
Turn the printer Off.
Insert the prepared USB thumb drive in the USB Port on the printer’s rear panel.
Turn the printer On. The printer reads the USB port and begins the restore process.
The splash screen displays the ENERGY STAR logo while the printer reads the thumb drive.
The restore process begins with Check Firmware Version being displayed.
Next, the Software Upgrade screen is displayed. Depending on the system configuration (Trays, Finisher) the process can require approximately 20 minutes. The Software Upgrade screen changes to reflect the current subsystem being restored.
After the firmware update process is complete, the AltBoot Complete screen is displayed instructing you to remove the USB thumb drive.
Remove the USB thumb drive from the printer’s USB Port.
Wait for the printer to reboot and return to Ready To Print.
Help PLEASE! I'm going crazy. Printing from certain programs (Microsoft Office 2016, Preview, Adobe CS) on a new iMac that migrated from Yosemite to High Sierra causes the program I'm in to quit. After a full day trying to troubleshoot it, I found online that the issue is the Xerox Printer, not the computer. Of note, I have a Canon inkjet and do NOT have that problem printing to the Canon.
Can someone please, please offer a solution? I love my Xerox Printer and want to continue to use it.
P.S. I'm not all that tech-saavy, so please offer easy, step-by-step solutions. ;-)
...Printer user with similar issues on High Sierra. I'll let you know if anything changes, but...
Just to let you and Cheryl know that I believe I have solved the issue.....but without going through all of the steps you had listed on another post.
All I did was go to System Preferences, Printers and Scanners, and ADD the Xerox Printer FROM THE PRINTER LIST.....BUT instead of using the Xerox Phaser 6350DX (on the bottom ("USE")), I used "Generic Postscript Printer". It created a second Xerox Phaser 6350DX printer....called "Xerox Phaser 6350DX 2"....and the printing works without closing Word and Preview.
So....WHEW.....and I hope this might help another stressed Xerox Printer user with similar issues on High Sierra.
I'll let you know if anything changes, but I think I'm good for now.
Appreciate your help regardless.....
The company i work for recently relocated. Before we moved we took our domain controlers, file and printer servers and moved them offsite and set them up. They are VPN'd into the system so it was as if the servers never where removed.
Then when we moved we removed all of our switches and took them with us. At the new location we reconnected our switches to the already wired patch panels. Pointed the servers to the new ISP's equipment and brought our servers back online with our network with no other changes.
When we connected the first Xerox 7225. Within a few moments the file and printer server sees the printer then the printer on the laptops that were installed VIA group policy showed up. Everyone can print to the printer just fine. This means that the file and printer server is working fine and the printer is on our network.
However, if you try to use the e-mail function you get an error that if cannot because the host name is not valid.
I browsed to the SMTP settings and the host name is here and there are no errors.
I researched a bit and found something about the ip settings so I checked and in the DNS section the requested host name is filled out and so is the requested domain name. They have not changed. But under the varified host name and verified domain name they both show they could not be verified.
I removed them and retyped them and saved the settings but it still not working. Any help or advise would be appreciated.

This issue has been resolved.
I did not know that when we moved to this new building they added a new sonicwall device and cloned the settings from the old one. They missed the firewall rule that allows for SMTP connections on port 25.
We added the rule for the firewall and the oprations of the printer is back to normal.
Been in a bind in work for the past week. We switched internet providers from Spectrum to Elauwit, and since our Xerox Workcentre 6655i printer has been a giant paperweight (besides the scan functionality). I will list everything I have tried since the change, and everything has been to no avail.
-Called Xerox support and had a helpful technician, Andrew. Andrew determined that the new ISP used a different IP address system (192.168.253.xxx) versus the old ISP (192.168.1.xxx). So, we tried to set up dynamic IP assignment on the printer and it didn't work. We statically set an IP adress on the printer, and it still didn't work. For some reason, the printer refused to connect with the new network. He suggested that we contact the ISP.
-The ISP sent a technician who looked at the printer for a while. He determined the same thing, that the printer wasn't being allowed to get a dynamic IP from the network (not a 100% sure what he did). He said to call corporate.
-Called corporate IT and talked with them for a while. They said they were not able to do anything remotely, since the printer was not able to connect to the network they were not able to see it from their office (understandable).
-Bought a USB-B cord and hooked it from the printer to my PC. The PC does not recognize the printer as a printer, and instead has it listed as "USB Ethernet/RNDIS Gadget"
Under the Devices and Printers tab all the printers are showing as there but in error, and trying to run the Windows device manager does nothing. I know my way around a computer, but I am clueless when it comes to networking. Hoping anyone has had the same problem as I am having, because I need help!
Thanks in advance.

If it isn't on the LAN, Scan should not be an option unless it is to a USB stick, unless you meant to copy.
As for print from a PC via USB port, that needs to be enabled before it can work, login to it as admin and go to
Machine Status > tools > Network Settings > USB Settings > USB Connection Mode > Direct printing via driver
As for connection to the LAN.
From your PC, hold down the Windows key and tap the letter R.
Type cmd and hit enter
Type ipconfig and hit enter (take note of the Default Gateway)
In the new window type ping 192.168.253.200 and then hit the enter key
If you get no response, go to the printer and go into Machine Status > Tools > Network Settings > TCP/IP Settings > IPv4
Set the IP as 192.168.253.200
The Subnet as 255.255.0.0
The gateway as exactly what you noted in the above steps
Apply and reboot, see if you can then get to the printer on the LAN.
I'm attempting to upgrade my 6515 from s/w 65.10.41 to 65.21.41 using the firmware update tool on my mac running 10.13.3
The firmare tool runs and says firmware upgraded and I get 5 beeps from the printer but it sits displaying "An authorized user is making changes to this device, Please wait....” forever. If I switch the printer off and on from the front panel I get the following on the error report and the s/w is still at 65.10.41:
The software upgrade failed(017-759)
My Square Fold will not square more than 9 sheets. Where can I find the NVM settings list to make changes.
5 sheets or less does ok.
Every day or two I find that I can't access my 3215 from Easy Print Manager (ESP) nor from the Centreware Internet Services due to the printer's IP address changing for some unknown reason. To get ESP working I need to reconnect my PC to the printer via USB each time to reset it. This can't be right. Can I reconfigure ESP from my laptop to get it to work without using a USB cable? I tried but see no option to do it. I have Windows 10. Why does the IP address of the printer keep changing and what can I do to stop it from doing so?
I'm new to Xerox so please bear with me.

It can't change it unless it is set to DHCP, which would mean when you reboot it , it asks your router for an IP address, and your router supplies it with a different one.
So eliminate that by setting it up with a Static IP address.
Enter a Static IP Address:
- Press the Machine Status button on the Control Panel.
- Press the up/down arrows to select Network and press OK.
- Enter the Administrator Password using the alphanumerical keypad. The default is 1111.
- Press the OK button; the Network Settings menu displays.
- Press the up/down arrows to select TCP/IP(IPv4); press OK.
- Press the up/down arrows to select Static; press OK.
- Press the up/down arrows to select IPv4 Address; press OK.
- Enter the IP Address using the alphanumerical keypad; press OK.
- Enter details for Subnet Mask using the alphanumerical keypad; press OK.
- Enter details for Gateway using the alphanumerical keypad; press OK.
- The Saved screen will display and return to the Network menu.
- From the Network menu, press the up/down arrows to select TCP/IP(IPv4); press OK.
- Press the up/down arrows to select Static; press OK.
- Press the up/down arrows to select Primary DNS; press OK.
- Enter details for Primary DNS using the alphanumerical keypad; press OK. The Saved screen will display and return to the Static menu.
- Press the up/down arrows to select Secondary DNS; press OK.
- Enter details for Secondary DNS using the alphanumerical keypad; press OK. The Saved screen will display and return to the Network menu.
I am wondering if anyone has had any colour issues when using the Resize node. I am using Freeflow Core to resize a powerpoint presentation so that it fits on a 11 x 8.5 size then I impose it two up before sending to printer. The original PDF file is 10 x 5.63 and I am just resizing the actual media size so that it is centred on 11 x 8.5. I am not enlarging or reducing the image size at all.
We are finding very dramatic colour changes when we have Freeflow Core do this. These are not subtle colour changes these colour changes are so dramatic that the job is unacceptable. Anyone run into this or have any suggestions?
