I am having trouble configuring the scan to destination function of a new Xerox AltaLink C8045, the goal is to allow a user to scan to a network folder VIA SMB.
I already have to device configured with the Kerberos Server for users to log into, and I have created an entry in the address book for the "Scan to feature". When I test destination from the web interface all sections pass and I can see that a file is made and deleted on my shared drive by looking at the date las modified time.
The issue is when I try the function from the physical device, I am presented with the following error: Conflicting Job Settings - Invalid path Specified. Any idea what my problem is and why the destination test works from the Web interface but the function of the machine fails?
is it possible to remove blank pages from a document (PDF) while scanning with a 6605?
I know that there is this option for newer and bigger machines but I'm guessing if it's possible to set it also for this model.
I am wondering if it is possible to add a watermark to copies on an Altalink C8055 (I know that it is possible to set this up in the print driver for print jobs)... I just want a simple stamp in the background with text that says "COPY" or "VOID". It was possible on the previous machine that was being used here, a WorkCentre 7435 but I am not able to find anything on the machine that would allow me to do this.

There is no feature like that on any Xerox made devices I have come across, but near all FujiXerox devices do (The 74XX family were FujiXerox)
So all the VersaLinks will do it, but none of the Connectkey or AltaLink products.
Hello, I have questions about WorkCentre 6515:
- Is there a possibility to receive a printed confirmation with Scan-to-Email?
- Can you cancel the redial process when sending a fax, e. with an incorrectly entered number?

Confirmations print by default only when the job fails, otherwise it is typically a waste of paper, and as many have put it (Xerox just using up valuable ink and wasting the customers money).
But you can indeed have it print when successful too.
EWS > Apps > Email then scroll down a little past the halfway mark to find it.
As for the fax cancel, it has to be done outside of the fax option.
So on the device go to Home > Jobs and just touch the fax job, then select Delete
Latest Sierra OSX, and latest Xerox firmware and wifi. Print is working well.
If I have choosen scanner assistant I get a warning " Scanner device is not responding....... Change Port". But if I choose the change port option, Scanner sad "ready to scan" ???????
If I choose the build image scannner from osx I get a -9927 error
Under windows is working well both scanner and print

When Apple releases a new OS, they certainly don't need to tell every manufacturer what they are changing, or why, or how.
The latest firmware for the 3025 is this one here.
I don't know if it will fix it, but I don't think it will since Apple dropped SMBv1, and the printer doesn't support SMBv2 or SMBv3. The full details on scanning are here.
You can call Xerox and ask them to update it, or at least to confirm it doesn't or shouldn't work in 10.13.4 and up.
I'm an IT Engineer, and I have problem configuring Workflow Scanning on Xerox 5775 Work Center.
Error was : "Login Failure, Check User password, and/or setups "
I made an account on the Server and created a password for it and I Gave it Full Control on the server
in the server name, I put "server IP" , and in the user I put "scan" the user name on the server.
Please don't hesitate to ask me if you need more information about the setup.
I have a WorkCentre 6505N MFP. I have it connected to a client running server 2012 R2 64bit.
My users can access the printer with no issue, as it is set up in print management.
However, I am unable to set up a network scan to a specified folder on the C:\ drive of the same server.
I have created a folder on the C:\ drive named 'Scan' and then set sharing (right click share, everyone).
I then tried configuring the settings within the work centre splash page.
I believe the printer sees the directory because it does not fail until after the scanning portion is complete. It then errors out with '031-533'
In the Name field I have the name of the printer
In the Server type field i have SMB
Host IP address is the address of the server within the same subnet as the printer,
Port number is currently 445, however it was initially 139, (both ports yield the same result)
Login name is Administrator
Password: is pass word for local login of print server (administrator)
Name of shared Directory is SCAN
Subdirectory/path is left blank.
I only have the local administrator credentials for this machine (print server) . I am hoping i can still set up a local share only (for the same computers connected by switch to the print server.
I have also run a power shell command to verify that SMB1 and 2 are "TRUE". (Enabled)
Any assistance in the matter would be extremely grateful. Thank you.

I'm pretty sure it won't work unless you disable SMBv2, which is a terrible idea.
Better to simply switch to FTP, just install that on the server and make the ftp root use the same folder as the SMB share, then the client PC's will stay mapped and the only thing changing will be how the printer gets the scan there.
But if you really want to attempt to make the printer work, you would have to get it to the latest firmware, which is still 3 years old and before the WannaCry updates on your server.
You will also want to change the format of the username, because it isn't just Administrator and you can confirm that by adding it to the share itself, the printer needs to be using it as it appears within the brackets here
And by all rights you should also add the specified user to the Security tab as well
And yes, port 445 is the correct one to use.
But I really don't think it is going to work, the SMB landscape has changed drastically and the older printer/scanners just don't work well or reliably unless they have firmware in the 2016 and up range. In the long run, and usually the short run too, FTP is simply going to be more usable.
I have a WorkCentre 7225 that currently has a status code 05-501-00 which says: "The Document Feeder is raised. User intervention is required to lower the Document Feeder. All machine services are available."
Does anybody have experience with this? And is this something that I can fix, or does it require a technician coming out to fix it?
Thanks in advance

On the back of the printer right below the feeder lid, pop open the panel and then re-seat the cable.
Also check the sensor, if it got snapped off the printer would always see the position as raised since it isn't there to get pushed down
We had Scan to Email working through a GoDaddy account, but we recently switched to Office 365 email and I cannot get it set up properly. I've tried every setup configuration I could find online. POP before SMTP gives me "POP server comm timeout" and SMTP AUTH gives me "DSN server un-sets up in SMTP" or "Server un-supports SMTP-AUTH". I made sure the system clock was accurate and I just updated the firmware. These are the most recent settings I tried and seem closest to the Office 365 instructions and what all the forum posts recommend. Is there something wrong here?
The company i work for recently relocated. Before we moved we took our domain controlers, file and printer servers and moved them offsite and set them up. They are VPN'd into the system so it was as if the servers never where removed.
Then when we moved we removed all of our switches and took them with us. At the new location we reconnected our switches to the already wired patch panels. Pointed the servers to the new ISP's equipment and brought our servers back online with our network with no other changes.
When we connected the first Xerox 7225. Within a few moments the file and printer server sees the printer then the printer on the laptops that were installed VIA group policy showed up. Everyone can print to the printer just fine. This means that the file and printer server is working fine and the printer is on our network.
However, if you try to use the e-mail function you get an error that if cannot because the host name is not valid.
I browsed to the SMTP settings and the host name is here and there are no errors.
I researched a bit and found something about the ip settings so I checked and in the DNS section the requested host name is filled out and so is the requested domain name. They have not changed. But under the varified host name and verified domain name they both show they could not be verified.
I removed them and retyped them and saved the settings but it still not working. Any help or advise would be appreciated.

This issue has been resolved.
I did not know that when we moved to this new building they added a new sonicwall device and cloned the settings from the old one. They missed the firewall rule that allows for SMTP connections on port 25.
We added the rule for the firewall and the oprations of the printer is back to normal.
